Mr. Rubio, wearing a Jewish kippa, offered prayers at Jerusalem’s sacred Western Wall alongside Mr. Netanyahu and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, an AFP correspondent reported.

LeT rebuilding its Muridke headquarters in Pakistan using ‘flood relief’ as a front, say security agencies

Globally banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has been raising funds through both online and offline drives to construct its headquarters in Muridke, which was struck by the Indian Air Force on May 7, 2025, during Operation Sindoor, according to security agencies. According to the agencies, funds are being collected under the guise of “relief for flood victims”, the same modus operandi used during the 2005 Pakistan/Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) earthquake, when the LeT — under the Jamaat-ud-Dawa front — had raised a huge amount of funds, of which about 80% was diverted to build terror infrastructure.

Beggars’ homes are treated worse than prisons and run like ‘discretionary charity’ by state: SC judgment

The Supreme Court has held in a judgment that beggars’ homes are neither quasi-penal facilities nor “discretionary charity” run by the State. Their role must be restorative, it stressed. A Bench of Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan said the poor in beggars’ homes are deprived of the even basic constitutional protections afforded to convicts in prisons. The term “home” denotes safety, dignity, belonging, and care. They should be conceived by the state as centres of recovery, skill-building and reintegration into society.
