At least nine people crushed to death at Kasibugga temple in A.P.’s Srikakulam district
At least nine persons including a boy were killed reportedly after they fell down from a six-feet-high wall when they attempted to escape from rush after an iron railing was damaged inside Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga town in Srikakulam on Saturday (November 1, 2025). “A case has been registered against the temple owner, Hari Mukunda Panda, under various sections under culpable homicide,” Srikakulam Superintendent of Police said.
Kerala declared free from extreme poverty, first State to do so
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared the State as free from extreme poverty at a special session of the Assembly on the occasion of ‘Kerala Piravi’ on Saturday (November 1, 2025), making it the first Indian State to make such a declaration.
