Amit Shah holds closed-door meeting in Delhi to discuss government formation in Bihar
After the massive victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly election, the coalition began the process of government formation with a series of meetings on Friday (November 14, 2025). The NDA had won 202 of the 243 Assembly constituencies in the election. Janata Dal (United) working president Sanjay Jha met senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, while fellow BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan and Vinod Tawde, who were given responsibility for the Bihar election, met Mr. Shah in the national capital to discuss strategy ahead of government formation.
Tamil Nadu moves Supreme Court against President’s refusal to grant assent to anti-NEET Bill
Tamil Nadu on Saturday (November 15, 2025) moved the Supreme Court against the President’s refusal to grant assent to a proposed law which exempts the State from providing medical admissions through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The State urged the top court to pronounce the President’s refusal as unconstitutional and declared that the 2021 Bill is deemed to have received assent.
Nine killed, 32 injured in ‘accidental blast’ at J&K police station; CM announces ex gratia
An accidental explosion at Nowgam police station in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, killed nine persons and left 32 injured on Friday (November 14, 2025) night, the police said. The explosion occurred when a team of officials were handling explosive substances stored in an open area at the police station, Director-General of Police Nalin Prabhat said on Saturday (November 15, 2025). The explosive materials were seized from Faridabad in Haryana on November 9 and 10 during the J&K Police’s ongoing investigation into a “white collar” inter-State terror module, he added.
ECI plans for pre-mapped data during SIR Phase 2 remain unclear
As the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls gets under way, it is unclear how the Election Commission of India (ECI) plans to use the “pre-mapping” exercise done by each State before the rollout of the gigantic project. The pre-mapping exercise entailed matching in advance electors who were already present in the voter lists after the previous SIR with those in the current list.
Delhi blast: Police registers two FIRs against Al-Falah University for forgery and cheating
Delhi Police has registered two separate FIRs against Haryana’s Al-Falah University, following red flags raised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an official said on Saturday (November 15, 2025). The FIRs have been registered by the Crime Branch for cheating and forgery over alleged false accreditation claims made by the university, he said.

R.K. Singh resigns from BJP following suspension from party
The Bihar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (November 15, 2025) suspended former Union Minister R.K. Singh and two other leaders from the party for anti-party activities. The party asked them to submit a reply within a week. Soon, Mr. Singh resigned as a member of the party. On similar grounds, a show cause notice has been issued to party Legislative Council member Ashok Kumar Agarwal and Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal.

Under the amended legislation, a Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) was set up to deal with matters related to the Constitution, while the existing Supreme Court would deal only with traditional civil and criminal cases.
