On Friday, IIM-B signed an MoU with Tata Trusts (Sir Dorabji Tata Trust) to establish the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore – Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies. The agreement, signed by Noel Tata (Chairman, Tata Trusts) and Dr Devi Shetty (Chairperson, IIM-B Board of Governors), will provide philanthropic support for academic infrastructure, governance, and strategic direction.
Programmes Offered:
- BSc (Hons) in Data Sciences with a minor in Economics
- BSc (Hons) in Economics with a minor in Data Sciences (40 students in each programme)
The new residential campus at Jigani-Anekal (23 km from Bannerghatta Road) will focus on interdisciplinary learning, AI-driven research, and innovation. Tata Trusts’ contribution will fund academic facilities, student housing, and accessible infrastructure. The partnership also aims to strengthen IIM-B’s research clusters in Artificial Intelligence, data science, algorithmic design, Indian Knowledge Systems, and applied business learning, while building a multidisciplinary faculty body.
Noel Tata said the collaboration seeks to set new benchmarks in undergraduate education, while IIM-B officials emphasized preparing students for a technology-driven future.
This marks a historic expansion of IIM Bangalore’s academic legacy into undergraduate education.
