As part of its ongoing efforts to make the Common Law Admission Test (“CLAT”) a more student-friendly and accessible examination, the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities resolved the following at its meeting held on May 20, 2023:
1. The Undergraduate (“UG”) CLAT 2024, for admissions to the Undergraduate courses that commence in the Academic Year 2024-2025 at the participating National Law Universities shall comprise 120 (One hundred and Twenty) questions instead of 150 (One hundred and Fifty) questions as in previous years. Candidates will have 2 (Two) hours to complete the test, as in previous years.
2. The 120 questions will continue to be organised into five sections, that is:
1. English Language,
2. Current Affairs Including General Knowledge,
3. Legal Reasoning,
4. Logical Reasoning
5. Quantitative Techniques.
3. There shall be no change in the syllabus and number of questions for the Postgraduate CLAT 2024.
CLAT 2024 to be held on Sunday December 3, 2023
The Executive Committee and Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities (the “Consortium”) met at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal on May 20, 2023 and decided that the Common Law Admission Test 2024 shall be conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Further details regarding the syllabus, application and counselling process shall be released shortly.
