The Indian Institute of Management Guwahati (IIM-G) has officially commenced its MBA programme with the inaugural batch of 52 students from 18 states.
Campus Details:
Classes have started at the transit campus in Tech City, Bongora, Kamrup district.
The institute is currently functioning under the mentorship of IIM Ahmedabad.
Within the next three years, IIM-G will shift to its permanent campus being developed over 574 bighas at Morabhita and Dighalkuchi villages in Kamrup district.
Establishment & Vision:
IIM-Guwahati has been set up under the PM-DeVINE scheme with an investment of ₹53.84 crore.
The facility is implemented by AMTRON in partnership with the North Eastern Council.
It will serve as a regional common resource centre, with one hub in Guwahati and 10 spokes across the Northeast.
This marks a historic milestone — IIM Guwahati becomes the 22nd IIM in India, expanding opportunities for management aspirants across the country.
