About XAT 2026
For more than 75 years, XLRI has been conducting Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) on behalf of XAMI. XAT is a national-level MBA entrance test held annually for admission to management programmes at XLRI and other top B- schools of India - Loyola Institute of Business Management, Chennai, St. Joseph’s Institute of Management, IMT Ghaziabad, GIM Goa, Sri Balaji University, TAPMI Manipal, XIMB Bhubaneswar, FORE School of Management, New Delhi etc.
A candidate may apply for multiple programmes. Those who apply for more than one programme may be called for multiple interviews and/or group discussions. The selection criteria for different programmes may differ depending on the nature of the programme. XAT online test will have different components and you need to maximise your performance in each of them. In its pursuit of academic excellence, XLRI actively encourages the students from diverse backgrounds to apply. While preparing the short-listed candidates for the interview, in addition to XAT performance,academic background and the relevant work experience. Besides performance in the personal interviews (and/or group discussions), final selection based on XAT performance, relevant work experience, academic background, extracurricular activities while preparing the final list.

XLRI announces XAT 2026 registrations:
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level aptitude test conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur. It is one of the oldest and the second largest exam for MBA/PGDM admissions. The XAT exam will be conducted in 120+ cities across India. The scores of the XAT will be valid for admissions at XLRI Jamshedpur and other Xavier Associate Management Institutes. Apart from these, the scores are accepted by over 160 premium B-schools across the country.

- Examination Date – January 04, 2026
- Registration begins on July 10, 2025
- Registrations ends on December 05, 2025
- XAT Admit card download December 20, 2025 tentative
- Registration Fees Registration fees: XAT Registration Fee - Rs. 2200/-
- XLRI programmes fee Rs 200 per programme

2. Verify email ID
3. Fill XAT Application form online
4. Upload required documents
5. Pay application fees
6. Submit your application form.
XAT examination will be almost like the previous years.
The Question Paper consists of two-time bound parts:
Part 1
a. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning
b. Decision Making
c. Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation
Part 2
d. General Knowledge e. Essay
The number of questions varies year to year. There will be approximately 22-30 questions in each section and total number of questions will not exceed 100-105 including General Knowledge.
General Knowledge and Essay will not be used to determine the cutoff and will be used only during the interview stage.
