ABOUT CAT |
CAT is a management aptitude test conducted by the IIMs primarily to evaluate and shortlist candidates for the post graduate programme. It is a computer-based exam and a candidate has to register and apply following due process to take this exam conducted once a year. As per Government of India norms, IIMs reserve 15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates and 27% seats for NC-OBC candidates. 5% seats are also reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. IIMs also provide scholarships to deserving students who need financial support. |
IIMs are considered India’s premier national institutes providing quality education in management and research. IIMs primarily offer post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. |
CAT exam Notification 2023 was released on July 30, 2023 and the Registration and Application process for CAT exam is open from August 2, 2023, to September 20, 2023.

CAT 2023: Important Information
In the Release on CAT 2023 exam, IIM Lucknow which is conducting CAT 2023 shared updated information about CAT 2023 exam dates, registration dates, test pattern among other details
1. CAT Exam Date: CAT 2023 Exam will be held in three sessions on Sunday, November 26, 2023-Morning, Afternoon and Evening
2. CAT Registration 2023 Dates: Application process for CAT 2023 starts on August 2 at 10 AM and will close on September 20, 2023 at 5 PM
3. CAT 2023 Registration Fee: CAT 2023 Registration Fee is Rs.2400/- for General & OBC-NC and Rs.1200/- for Reserved category
4. CAT Test Duration: CAT 2023 Exam duration 2023 for each session will be of 2 hours (120 Minutes)
5. Total CAT Questions: CAT 22 question paper had 66 questions
6. No. of Sections in CAT 2023. Exam: CAT 2022 test paper was divided into 3 sections as below:
- Section-1: Verbal Ability & Reading Comperhension
- Section-2: Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Section-3: Quantitative Ability (QA)
7. CAT Sectional Time Limit: Each Section will have individual time limit of 40 Minutes
8. CAT 2023 in 150 Cities: CAT Exam 2023 will be held in 150 Test Cities
9. Choice of 6 Test Cities: You can choose 6 preferred test cities from the list of 150 cities
10. Registration Form Edit Window: After the closure of the registration window, CAT Centre 2023 will open the CAT Registration form edit window for 1-2 days.
Candidates will be able to edit the following fields in the application form (if required) -
